Interpreter of Maladies

Finally read the famed Booker price fictional work by Jhumpa Lahiri... It was touching, but entirely commom stories day to day life of citizens in India, other than the a few in US.
I can recognize with it...but dont know if a non-indian can "get" it the way I "get" it...I was able to enjoy it, laugh with it, cry with it...wasnt sure is others can get it, guess they did, and hence the price? ...i ddnt think it was highly am itious literature...I cud write it too...it was simple...may be one day i will...it cud happen :-)

You are well-equipped with writing potential, you should write! Besto!
